Thank you to Shalom church for a $700 donation from Sunday collection to the upcoming 8th grade DC trip!  Student scholarships have been distributed and there are still requests coming in.  We are reaching out to our community, churches and local businesses who would like to contribute to this trip and to providing our students with an wonderful educational opportunity.  If you are interested in making a contribution please contact Lori Scott at lscott@pinckneypirates.org.

Science Experiment6X3

Our science class planted sprouted acorns to learn the scientific process of writing a question, researching information about how oak trees grow, and writing a hypothesis based on changing the kind of light each plant would receive while growing. Students will continue to measure and chart their plant's growth into the spring, and hope to get permission to plant their oak saplings somewhere on school grounds.

9 11 Ctl

Choose to Lead students in Mrs. Harris' 4th and 6th hour class have officially kick started their semester with their first service-learning project! In tribute of September 11 the students came up with I WILL statements. The statements created by the students contained promises and commitments in how they plan on bettering their community, as well as how they plan to be of service to others. Although two separate classes, the students were still able to collaborate ideas to create an outstanding video and were nothing short of leaders. Along with Mrs. Harris' class, classes all over Pinckney will be partaking in 9/11 tributes in remembrance of the lives lost that day and those who rose to service.
