Staffulty of the Month

Each month one member of the Pinckney Community High School staff and faculty (known here as STAFFULTY) is selected to receive this award. Once the results are in, we draw and see what staffulty member will be recognized this month.

Mr. Rob Roy was chosen as Staffulty of Month for October 2017. He was chosen because he is always so nice to everyone. He is a genuine person who actually deeply cares about people.

Congratulations Mr. Roy!!

Academic Awards

We will have an academic assembly honoring academic scholars on December 15, 2017 in the High School Auditorium. In the past, we have had this as an awards assembly at night. This year we will have it during the day. We want to acknowledge students for their academic achievements in front of their peers as well as their parents. The assembly will be live on facebook. The academic assembly will be recognizing students who have:

  • Achieved two consecutive semesters of a GPA of 3.50 or higher, a student earns an academic letter,
  • After a second time of earning a GPA of 3.50 or higher for two consecutive semesters, a student earns a silver pin award,
  • After a third time of earning a GPA of 3.50 or higher for two consecutive semesters, a student earns a gold pin award,
  • After a 4th time of earning a GPA of 3.50 or higher for two consecutive semesters, a student earns a paperweight award.

We have 258 students earning a letter, silver pin, or gold pin. Students who have earned this honor will be getting a letter in the mail letting them know they will be recognized for this accomplishment. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!

HAT Day

Every week a member of the Renaissance initiative goes from class to class looking for a class that meets the HAT requirements. The requirements are: all students in the class have their Homework turned in, everyone is in Attendance, and no one was Tardy (HAT).

The HAT Day award was ice cream cookie cake donated by Dairy Queen. On December 1st,  Mr. Martin’s 6th hour class won!

Girl’s Basketball & Mott’s Children’s Hospital

On Dec. 7th,  the PCHS girl’s basketball team will be playing at Milford in the 4th annual Teddy Bear toss game. During the 4th annual bear toss,  the buzzer will sound after the first basket (doesn't matter who scores it). At the sound of the buzzer, everyone throws the teddy bears on the court.  The National Honor Society students pick them ups within 90 seconds, then play resumes.  Once the ball is inbounded,  the rest of the game will go as normal. During the 3rd quarter, the number of teddy bears collected for Mott’s Children’s Hospital will be announced. If you bring a teddy bear to donate, you will get free admission into the game. Come out and support your Pinckney Pirates and Mott's Children’s Hospital!

Pinckney’s Non-Discrimination Policy and Harassment

Pinckney Community Schools does not discriminate and prohibits harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation or transgender identity), age, disability, religion, height, weight, marital or family status, military status, ancestry, genetic information, or other legally protected category (“Protected Classes”) in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities, and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.  This policy shall prevail in all Board of Education policies concerning staff, students, educational programs and services, employment, and individuals and companies with whom the Board does business.

Harassment will not be tolerated and will be investigated promptly. Due to the sensitivity surrounding complaints of unlawful harassment, timelines are flexible for initiating the complaint process; however, individuals should make every effort to file a complaint within thirty (30) calendar days after the conduct occurs while the facts are known and potential witnesses are available. Once the formal complaint process is begun, the investigation will be completed in a timely manner [ordinarily, within fifteen (15) business days of the complaint being received].  See Board Policy 1662 for a more detailed description of the Anti-Harassment policy and complaint procedures.

The following persons have been designated to handle inquiries regarding the District’s non-discrimination policies:
