Enrollment Verification for 2020-21 school is open
Re-enrollment for 20-21 is now available. All students in Pinckney Community Schools enrolled in PCS (online or face-to-face), please complete the re-enrollment. This is a chance to verify your contact information, complete permission forms, etc. You can complete the task in a few ways:
Using the NEW MOBILE APP on a mobile device (https://flc.pinckneypirates.org/mistar-parent-connect-app)
Visiting MISTAR on your computer (https://sisweb.resa.net/Pinckney/ParentPortal)
We continue to update our school website with information about these new building procedures specific to opening schools during Phase 4. Please click this link to go to our website: https://www.pinckneypirates.org/o/farley-hill . All principal notes to families can be found here, in case you need to review information from past emails. There is a lot to remember!
Beginning of Day
Parent Drop Off: Parents will use the playground blacktop at the back of the building to drop off students starting at 8:40 am. Staff will be helping students get to their classrooms. Students will make their way to their class upon entering the building. During phase 4, guests are not allowed in the building. Students will enter school wearing masks. Hand sanitizer will be provided just inside the doors of the building and upon entering the classroom.
Bus Drop off: Starting at 8:43 am, buses will release students. During phase 4, each bus will dismiss one at a time at the front entrance. Staff members will meet groups of students at their bus and walk them into the building to meet their teacher. K-1 students will enter at the south end of the building and 2nd/3rd grade students will enter using the main door. Students will enter school wearing masks. Hand sanitizer will be provided inside the main door and upon entering the classroom.
End of Day
Parent/Guardian Pick-up: During Phase 4 visitors are not permitted in the building. Students will meet their adult at the playground blacktop curb. Each car picking up student(s) will be given a window sign indicating your child’s name and teacher. As cars arrive for pick up they will line up at the curb. Staff will bring your child out through back playground doors to meet their adult.
If you submitted a request, please pick up your window car sign(s) this Thursday, September 3 between 9:00 and noon. Please drive around to the back of the school, following our loop traffic pattern to collect your sign(s). We are asking for your patience and understanding, as this new process will take time to become most efficient.
Bus: Classes will be dismissed individually to load buses at the end of day. Students will stay in the classroom until their class is dismissed to walk out to the bus. If you have an alternative bus drop off location (other than home address), please complete this transportation request form , and email the form to dispatcher@pinckneypirates.org as soon as possible . If you have specific questions regarding transportation for your child, please call (810)225-3960.
Kindergarten/KinderReady Families- Preparing for the first day of school
On the first day of school, we have many supports put in place for you and your child transitioning to kindergarten for the first day of school. While Michigan is in Phase 4, we are unable to have visitors in school during the school day. This includes drop off and pick up. This is an exciting time for our students, but I recognize that this transition into kindergarten is a big step. We are here to support our kindergarten students with this transition.
Staff members will be available outside as buses arrive to assist children in finding their way to their classrooms. Staff members will also be at the morning drop loop to assist children in finding their way to their classrooms.
Pirate Virtual Academy Students - We are planning for families to pick up at home learning materials this Thursday, September 3 between 1:00 and 3:30. We will have your child’s Journeys, Math Expressions, laptop computer and other items ready for you at that time. Please remember that your child’s teacher may have other items for you to pick up as we are changing units of study or for special projects. They will reach out to you when it is time for this. Save the date for Pirate Virtual Academy school pictures on Friday, September 11 from 9:00-2:30. A link to ordering pictures/yearbooks was included in my last email.
