Mrs. Griscom’s class engaged in literacy instruction including reviewing the meaning and use of morphemes (prefixes, suffixes, Latin and Greek base) and the strategy of repeated reading to gain a deeper comprehension of text.
Mrs. Kanerva class engaged in Makerspace activiites. Students explore and create a project through problem solving and planning using a variety of materials.
Our 4th graders are hard at work on this Monday morning.
Mr. Cogswell’s 5th grade students presented a story to a couple of our 4th grade classrooms through a readers theater script.
Mr. Lemay joined us at Navigator for a second time this year through our Watch DOGS program. We appreciate the strong support from our Navigator community.

Mr. Cogswell’s students are presenting reader’s theater script. This instructional strategy of repeated reading develops comprehension by supporting reading fluency.
This week Navigator Elementary hosted a Halloween themed after school social for our 4th and 5th grade students. Student enjoyed a pizza snack, bounce house, crafts, and games galore.
Mrs. Nalepa and Mr. Sharon’s class are engaged in a reading lesson focusing on realistic characters and events within a fictional text.

Ms. Potoff and Mrs. Royston's classes are learning about force and motion in science.
Mrs. Shappell's 5th grade class is learning about abstract art and watercolors. Students are also learning important vocabulary specific to art.
Today our 5th grade students, as our most senior group decorated the Navigator Elementary school rock (donated by Todd’s Service). Thank you to a couple of our PTO parents for doing this project.
Congratulations to Mr. Kelly’s class for winning a Jet’s pizza party for having the highest sales for Tuesday evenings Jet’s fundraising event.
Mrs. Kanerva’s class held Study Jam Session on Thursday morning with yummy breakfast snacks.
Spirit week Tacky Tourist Thursday!
Spirit Day on Wednesday is inside-out and/or backwards. Some of the kids are showing spirit creatively by wearing their clothes backward or inside out.
