Hello Pirate Families,

Although I typically share district updates on Fridays, I wanted to highlight an important opportunity for our school and the broader community: the creation of our Community Engagement Committee.

The goal of this committee is to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students at Pinckney Community Schools, regardless of race, ethnicity, or culture. While we have much to be proud of within PCS, we recognize that the limited diversity in our district and community can sometimes lead to unintentional challenges for our students, families, and community members.

We believe strongly in the strength of our district and the incredible contributions of our students, educators, parents, local businesses, municipal leaders, clergy, and other community members. To build on this foundation, we aim to bring together a committee of diverse stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions and take actionable steps toward enhancing understanding, appreciation, and support for everyone in our district and community. Together, we can strive to be the best Pirates possible!

If you’re interested in joining this effort, please complete the application form below:

We’ll share this opportunity via district email, our Facebook page, and our website. If you know someone who may not be connected to these outlets but would be a valuable addition to the committee, you’re welcome to complete the nomination form on their behalf:

Applications will stay open through December 9, 2024. Thank you for your dedication to making Pinckney Community Schools a welcoming and supportive place for all. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at rtodd@pinckneypirates.org or contact our Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Curriculum, Basia Kiehler, at bkiehler@pinckneypirates.org.

Thank you for your continued support, and as always,

GO PIRATES!
