A big PIRATE congratulations goes out to our Varsity Pom Team as they became the GRAND Champions at the Midwest Regional Competition in Chicago! This is the first time in the 28 years our girls have been traveling to this event that they have earned the title of GRAND Champions. In addition, our JV Squad took first in their division. Equally important, the girls earned the Betsy Carr Sportsmanship Award, which is such a strong reflection of the positive culture and expectations that exists within the team. This is a great accomplishment by a great group of young ladies and the coaches who are mentoring them. GO PIRATES!!

Love our new postcard! Although we in Pinckney Community Schools have always known how special our district is, we also are aware that many are not familiar with many of the great opportunities we offer, both academically and extra-curricular and our goal is to make certain that changes. "Think you know Pinckney Community Schools?"

Great evening with new Country Elementy principal, Ruth Badalucco, who treated our incoming kindergartners and their families to hotdogs, a bouncy house and a trip to Captain Frosty's. Going to be a great year!

A very informative evening tonight at Jane Tasch as over 200 participants listened to and shared information about PFAS in Livingston County lakes and rivers. Thank you to @repslotkin and the team of experts for their commitment in helping keep our communities safe.

Wishing Mr. Ozias, Mr. Jerome and our New Tech students safe travels as they visit Europe, exploring the rich cultures and history they have previously only studied in texts. Can't wait to see the projects you will present after this great experience!

We are so excited to announce the hiring of Basia Kiehler as our new Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Mrs. Kiehler has spent the past 4 years as principal of Hawkins Elementary in Brighton and has served in various curriculum leadership roles that includes a professional development facilitator, literacy instructional coach and assessment coordinator for WISD (Washtenaw Intermediate School District). Her strong leadership, passion for learning and inspiring nature will no doubt help us in reaching the high expectations we have for academic achievement. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Kiehler to our Pirate Family! (Mrs. Kieler is pictured below with the poke-a-dot shirt, along with our Board of Education).

Enjoying the fun at Country Elementary's field day festivities, although the weather today required everyone to be flexible, but the kids didn't mind as they had a great time!

We are always looking at ways to spruce up some areas around the district and given that the Complex Gym area is one of most widely used spaces for our community, we thought we would start here by representing some Pirate Pride. Looks fantastic!

Congratulations to Reece Ohmer, who was recently named as a 2019 Positive Athlete of Michigan Award Winner. She will be the lone representative of the more than 3,000 high school girl golfers across the state of Michigan. She, along with 28 other student athletes representing their specific sport, will be honored at a pregame ceremony on the field of the Detroit Tigers game on June 25th. Positive Athlete is looking for athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities, or just have an infectious positive attitude. Reece has all of these. She will be representing Pinckney Community Schools proudly on June 25th at Comerica Park. Great job Reece as we are so proud of your accomplishment! http://positiveathlete.org/states/michigan/
